Can I upgrade the laptop on a complete kit?

Yes, we offer upgrades to Surface Pro 4 Tablets with Armor, along with Panasonic CF54 Toughbooks.

Can I upgrade the software to include inboard engines, jet skis, diesel engines, and generators?

Yes, this comes with an additional license fee and you will also need more cables. Please call us at 866-551-6531, Contact Us on the website, or live chat with customer service, located at the bottom right of the screen.

Why do you include the universal cable and the engine specific cables?

Think of the universal cable as a "build a cable". The software will tell you which specific pins to place on this cable, which you then attach to the diagnostic port. This can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you are out in the elements or lose a small piece of the kit. The molded, engine specific cables are more durable and allow quicker connection time.

Does this kit include all the cables I will ever need?

The universal cable can be used in most situations, and the engine specific cables you receive are the most common. There are other cables available to purchase.

Is there a required annual fee?

No. After 12-months you will still have all of your functionality. However, you will not receive updates, support, or repair information. If you want these things, you need to purchase a Jaltest Marine Renewal.

Can I install the software on more than 1 computer?

Yes, you can have the software installed on up to 3 computers. However, you can only use one computer at a time.

Does this tool require Internet to work?

No, you do not have to be on the Internet to use this program. However, you must have Internet in order to use the following functions: Troubleshooting by Symptom, Troubleshooting by Fault Code, Vehicle Technical Data, and Technical Releases. Do I have a required annual fee each year?

No, there are no required annual fees. The software will work forever and never expire. You will only receive updates & support for 1 year, and after that it is $350 per year. You can also go "late" with no penalty.

Do you have other cables available?

Yes, we have all other cables available.

Does it come with all the cables for the engines mentioned above?

No. It comes with the "essential" ca bles. There are over 60 different cables used in the marine world, and these are just the most common. Contact our sales department with specific requirements if you believe you need additional cables.

If I don't need all the cables in the kit, is there a discount?

Yes, there is! Please contact us so we can price it out accordingly for you.

Do I have to install/license/configure anything if I purchase this kit?

No, everything is installed, licensed, configured and tested before it leaves our facility. You just need to unpack it from the box and start using it.

What do I need for John Deere Marine engines?

This kits listed are the "standard" edition that covers all gas engines. To upgrade to diesel engines you would need to purchase the "plus" edition for another $750. You will also need to purchase the TEXA Marine AM10 cable.

Will this kit do a Honda outboard 135 and 150?

Yes, this kit comes with the software and the cables to work on Honda engines.
