TEXA has several diagnostic hardware options available for their software packages. The two most common you will run across are the TXT and the TXB. Specifically the current versions are called Navigator TXB Evolution and Navigator TXT Multihub.
The TXB Evolution is designed to work with only two different software modules that TEXA offers, which are Marine and Bike.
The TXT Multihub is designed to work with all the software modules that TEXA offers, which are Car, Truck, Off-Highway, Bike & Power Sports. The TXT Multihub is also relatively new, with the old version called TXTs.
Where the confusion occurs is that the cables designed for Marine and Bike will only work with the TXB Evolution unless you purchase an adapter cable. This adapter cable also comes in two flavors depending on if you need the power cables or not (Which are typically required).

Do I need an adapter cable to use TEXA marine cables with the TXT Evolution MultiHub?
Yes. TEXA marine and bike cables plug straight into the Navigator TXB Evolution, but the TXT Evolution MultiHub needs the Marine & Bike Power Adapter Cable Kit (3910876), which is $122.00. If you run a TXB Evolution, you do not need this kit.
Should I buy a TEXA TXB or TXT for marine diagnostics only?
If you only work on boats and bikes, the TXB Evolution is the simpler fit because it needs no extra cables for marine work. The tradeoff is that it will not run the Car, Truck or Off-Highway modules. The TXT Evolution MultiHub runs all the TEXA software modules, but it needs the 3910876 adapter kit for marine use.
How do I connect TEXA marine cables to an older Navigator TXTs?
The older TXTs needs the TEXA Marine & Bike Power Supply and Adapter Kit (3903689), which is $171.00. It includes the power supply cable and adapter cable needed to run most boat and bike diagnostic cables through the TXT box.
Why does my older boat or PWC need battery power for TEXA diagnostics?
Some older vessels and PWCs do not power the ECM through the diagnostic port, so you have to supply power from the battery. The TEXA Power Supply Alligator Clamp Cable (7200052, $42.50) handles that and works with the AM01 main cable or the TXB Zero adapter. It is not included in the TXB Zero package.
Will my TEXA marine cables work on a TXT without the adapter?
No. Cables built for Marine and Bike work directly only with the TXB Evolution. On a TXT unit you need the matching adapter kit: 3910876 for the TXT Evolution MultiHub or 3903689 for the older TXTs. If you are unsure which box you have, talk to our team before ordering.
