Jaltest Expert Mode Explained
In this Jaltest Marine Software tutorial, we are going to briefly explain Jaltest’s Expert Mode, how to obtain the Expert Mode pin number, and when and why to use it. Expert Mode unlocks advanced features of the software to allow addition parameter configuration changes. It is important to note that in order to use Expert Mode, you must have a pin number. Jaltest requires an Expert Mode pin number so that repair facilities can dictate which technicians they will allow into the advanced features of Jaltest software.
Connect to an ECM
To activate Expert Mode, the first thing you will need to do is to get connected to
an ECM. In the example below we are connected to a Cummins ISB stationary engine. We did this by manually selecting the engine type then reviewing cable connection information to ensure proper connection.
Activate Expert Mode
The first thing you will need to do to activate Expert Mode is navigate to the Configuration tab and then click on Password Management. From here you will be prompted to activate Expert Mode. If you have a Pin, you may enter it at the bottom. If you do not have a pin, you can obtain it from Jaltest by clicking the link at the request link at the bottom of the window (shown below.). Once you have entered your pin, click the check mark to confirm.
Use Expert Mode
Once Expert Mode is activated you will be able unlock features that were previously disabled. To unlock an item, simply click on the item you’d like to unlock and click the unlock button. You will now have access to that feature.
